Until we complete our Mosque Project, a dedicated area within our current facility is serving the Muslim community for the prayers.

Religious Services

- Daily Prayer Services,
- Islamic Funeral Services,
- Services for the Newborn,
- Activities for Holiday Observances (i.e. Ramadan dinners and prayers for the entire community including interfaith dinners),
- Cross religious workshops and seminars (member of various Interfaith Alliances),
- Marriage counseling,
- Kuran-i Kerim Reading Classes.

Our İmam

Osman Memiş   (585) 410-4998

Mr. Memiş was born in Giresun province of Turkey in 1977.  He graduated from Giresun Religious High School in 1996.  In 2001, he graduated from Uludağ University School of Islamic Theology in Bursa, Turkey.  He, then, attended Center of Specialized Religious Training Center of Haseki, İstanbul for three years and completed his studies in 2005.  The same year, he earned his master’s degree in Islamic Law at the Uludağ University.  He is currently a doctoral student at the March 18 University in Çanakkale, Turkey.

His first formal appointment was in Biga, Çanakkale.  After completing his preachers' training, he executed his preacher duties in Bandırma and Edremit counties of Balıkesir.  Following his service as the imam (religious leader) of Muslim Community in New Haven, Connecticut between 2007-2012, he returned to his previous post in Edremit, Balıkesir.   In 2017, he is appointed as the imam of the Mosque of Turkish Society in Rochester, New York.

Osman Memiş is married and has four children.
